Frequently Asked Questions

How long will it take to groom my dog?

This depends on the treatment that your dog is receiving, your dog’s size, coat condition and behaviour. As a rough guideline a Full Groom will take around 2 hours, a bath and blow dry will take between 30 minutes and an hour.

Can I stay with my dog whilst they are being groomed?

No, unless there is a good reason. Dogs tend to fidget more when their owners are in the salon so it’s easier, less stressful and speedier to groom your dog without you being present.

How will I know when my dog is ready to be collected?

We will call you as soon as your dog is ready to be collected. Please don’t arrive to collect your dog before we have called you to advise that they are ready. There are many things that can add more time on to your dogs appointment and if you turn up before your dog is ready it means you will have to wait outside/elsewhere until we are finished.

Will my dog be put in a crate?

Here at Dandy Dogs we work on a one on one basis and your dog will have an appointment. Your dog will only be put in a holding crate whilst they are waiting to be collected, if the appointment before yours has overrun or if you bring multiple dogs at one time. This is purely for insurance purposes. We are not allowed to have dogs loose around the salon in case of any incidents. The holding crates are solely to keep your dog safe, warm and comfortable. The crates we have in the salon are large so your dog will have enough room to move around, stand, lie down and will have access to water.

Do you use crate/cabinet driers?

No. We do not have any of this equipment in the salon.
